A U.S. Air Force KC-10 Extender, assigned to 60th Air Mobility Wing, Travis Air Force Base, Calif., departs Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, to conduct aerial refuel support for Exercise Northern Edge 21, May 3, 2021. The KC-10 refuels Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets, deployed with the USS Theodore Roosevelt in the Gulf of Alaska, over an Alaska range as the fighter aircraft conduct training missions. Approximately 15,000 U.S. service members are participating in a joint training exercise hosted by U.S. Pacific Air Forces May 3-14, 2021, on and above the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex, the Gulf of Alaska, and temporary maritime activities area.
