Former U.S. Army Corporal Steve Martin Steve served in the U.S. Army and National Guard for 8 years. He was injured in Afghanistan in 2008 by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) while on operations as a State Department contractor. As a result of his injuries, Steve lost both legs below the knee. Not only has Steve walked, he’s completed more than 30 half marathons and 8 full marathons. Steve has also completed a successful summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, one of the famed Seven Summits. Steve retired from his job as an Arizona State Trooper and was the only double-leg amputee in the country serving as a patrol officer.
