Evacuation Op At Kabul’s Airport

A reminding glimpse of the "normal" humanitarian efforts of the "non-combatant evacuation operation" (NEO) by U.S. troops at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan during August 22-30, 2021 with a salute to the 13 fallen U.S. troops from the bombing attack.

Segment Information…

August 22, 2021 – U.S. Marines assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit monitor air traffic control from the runway of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. August 25, 2021 – Paratroopers assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, based out of Fort Bragg, N.C., work with Coalition Forces assisting the Department of State with a non-combatant evacuation operation (NEO) in Kabul, Afghanistan. (U.S. Army video segment by Sgt. Jillian G. Hix) 

August 30, 2021 – A U.S. Air Force aircrew, assigned to the 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, fly a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft to deliver U.S. Soldiers, assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, from Hamid Karzai International Airport, Afghanistan, to Ali Al Saleem Air Base, Kuwait … as one of the final noncombatant evacuation operation missions out of Afghanistan. The closing segment honors the brave 13 U.S. troops … who paid the ultimate sacrifice among the fatalities during the suicide terrorist bombing, while providing security at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 26, 2021.

The Afghanistan NEO was the largest non-combatant evacuation operation ever conducted by the U.S. military.
