Leonard Gordon was born on June 8, 1925 in Tilsit, Germany. Growing up well-off in Lithuania, his world came apart following the German invasion in 1941. His family was forced to live in the Siauliai ghetto, then transported to Dachau in 1944.
Leonard would survive the Holocaust and World War II, eventually immigrating to the United States. He became an electrical engineer, working for the United States Navy and building a successful and fulfilling life.
