Paratroopers Conduct Air Assault, Raid On Village

U.S. Army Paratroopers assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, conduct a raid on a village after air assault from MV-22 Ospreys with the help of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing at Dandolo range in Pordenone, Italy. This training validates a platoon to be the decisive element for the North and West Africa Response Force, a U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa mission.

The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army Contingency Response Force in Europe, capable of projecting ready forces anywhere in the U.S. European, Africa or Central Commands’ areas of responsibility.
