Rabbi Laszlo Berkowits was born in Derecske, Hungary. He is a survivor of Auschwitz-Birkenau from 1944-45, and the horrors of the Holocaust. After the camp was liberated in 1945, he studied in Sweden before moving to the United States, where he joined the U.S. Army and eventually became a rabbi. Here he talks about his experience surviving the Holocaust.
